The Federal Government has denied reports that Leah Sharibu is dead. Leah, a student of Government Girls Science and Technical Secondary School, Dapchi in Yobe state, was kidnapped by a faction of Boko Haram terrorists in February 2018. Garba Shehu, senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, denied the reports of Sharibu's death when he spoke with journalists in Abuja today Saturday August 31st. According to Garba, the government is not giving up on negotiations for her release. “Instead of giving up, the government is carrying forward processes that should hopefully yield her release by her captors. The  123 northerners  arrested by the Lagos State Special Taskforce on Environmental Sanitation have been released after nothing incriminating was found on them.  Lagos state police spokesperson, Elkana Bala confirmed the release of the men which according to him came after they were profiled.  He also revealed that some of the men were already living in Lagos but travelled back Eid-el-kabir celebration. Bala said the suspicion and subsequent interception of the truck came from the manner in which 123 northerners conducted themselves during the trip.

The Ondo State Police Command has arrested three persons in connection with the alleged assassination of  Nofisat Ibrahim , a staff member of the Oba branch of a commercial bank in Akure, the state capital.   The deceased, who operated the Point of Sales service was allegedly assassinated on Wednesday evening at Oke Ogba area of the capital city, by two unidentified gunmen. According to a police source, the three suspects were two bank managers and a businesswoman. The source said, “Two managers of the bank and a popular businesswoman in Akure were initially arrested but later one of the bankers has been released but the two suspects are still in detention to help us in our investigation.” The source noted that the deceased had earlier reported the businesswoman at the police station following an alleged threat on her life by the suspect. He stated, “It was reported at the station that the bank manager, who was a boss to the deceased, was aware of the disagreement betwee

The crossdresser was to hold his 28th birthday party tonight (August 31) at an event center in Lekki. But Police officers in various operational vehicles stormed the venue to enclose the area.  This development comes two days after Bobrisky dragged  Otunba Olusegun Runsewe , the Director-General of the National Council for Arts and Culture, who last week, said he is a National disgrace and will soon be dealt with by the government. The Lagos state police command has confirmed its officers shut down the venue of crossdresser, Bobrisky's 28th birthday party holding in Lekki, Lagos state today August 31st In an exclusive chat with LIB, the spokesperson of the state police command, Bala Elkana, confirmed that the directive for the shutdown came from the state command. Police officers in various operational vehicles, stormed the venue and cordonned off the area this evening as the much talked about party was about to kick off. The FBI has issued a warning to the public about a nationwide scam involving perpetrators impersonating its agents and phone numbers. In targeting unsuspecting victims, the fraudulent caller uses technology to "spoof" the phone number from an actual FBI field office, so victims believe the inbound call is coming from federal law enforcement. The agency indicated scammers have mimicked telephone numbers belonging to FBI field offices in California, Montana, Colorado, Texas, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, and Kentucky. Once connected with a targeted victim, scammers indicate that a warrant of arrest exists for the person, which will be dismissed by a federal court in exchange for immediate payment. To increase the appearance of authenticity of the scam, perpetrators have conducted research on their victims including their names and information about their background. The Lagos tate police command just confirmed the arrest of three members of a notorious robbery gang, who are all ex convicts. The suspects: Ayomide Babatunde, 30; Tunde Shabi, 37, and Femi Adeolu, 27, were specialists in holding their victims hostage for days till all the money in their accounts have been transferred. The gang leader, Babatunde, confessed to have successfully snatched not less than 20 cars between March and April, 2019. On the incident that led to his arrest, he said that they were on patrol looking out for who to rob when they noticed a Lexus Jeep at Ilupeju Estate. “When we finally got him, I took his phone and discovered that he has good money in one of the accounts. We forced him to transfer money to the account number of our godfather, Segun, who operates from inside the Abeokuta prison. A royal grand funeral concert was held on Friday August 30, in honor of late Ivorien entertainer DJ Arafat at the 35,000-capacity Felix Houphouet-Boigny stadium.
